Cherupayar Parippu Payasam




Moong dal - 2 cups(cherupayar parippu)
Jaggery - 1/2 kg
Coconut milk -of 2 coconuts(seperate 1st and 2 nd milk)
Cashew $ Raisins - 100 gm
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Shallots - 1 tso(chopped)
Cardomom pwd- 1/2 tsp
Dry coconut pieces- 1 tsp(optional)fried in ghee

1.Dry roast the dal till golden brown and once cooled wash, drain and keep aside

2.Cook the dal in 2nd coconut milk

3.Melt jaggery , strain and add in the cooked dal ,stirrin continuosly till the water dissappears

4.In this stage add the 1st coconut milk and cardomomk pwd and once it start bubbling oof the flame

5.In a pan heat ghee and roast the cashews and raisins and the shallots also and if u like add the coconut pieces and mix it well..............
